Jazz Talks with Trey Wright is an engaging, entertaining, and interactive presentation series that brings the stories and sounds of jazz history to life.  Each program explores a unique topic through a dynamic combination of storytelling, guided listening, demonstrations on guitar (and piano depending on the venue) and solo guitar performances of relevant repertoire.

Designed for both jazz enthusiasts and newcomers alike, Jazz Talks offers audiences an opportunity to hear the music and experience the artistry of jazz up close. Over the past three years, Trey’s engaging lecture and demonstration series has captivated enthusiastic audiences at the Earl Smith Strand Theater in Marietta and at the Linger Longer Cultural Arts series at Reynolds Lake Oconee.

Audience member quotes:
“Trey Wright was an engaging presenter. Very passionate about the subject. Trey Wright is a very talented musician. We especially enjoyed his electric jazz guitar songs dispersed throughout the program. The programs having a Q&A segment compliment the gathering getting those attending engaged further with the presenter”

“Trey Wright is a true gem. I am always eager to both hear him play the guitar but also observe his enthusiasm for music and explain the slight nuances in music genres. I leave each time excited I will be able to enjoy music with more depth and understanding. I have always enjoyed music but now I listen more closely to the chords and variations. I’m already looking forward to his performance in July”.

“He knew his topic and presented in a manner that was very interesting and enjoyable.”

“ The Jazz series has been great! I always learn so much more about musical styles that I have taken for granted over the years.”

“Can we just agree that Trey Wright is simply a delight?  In addition to being a great musician and teacher, of course!   Another great late afternoon/early evening session at our beloved Rock House.  Thank you for continuing to make him a part of the LLL series, and we are truly looking forward to his December 9th return.  Home run, Ms. Marie!”

“We so enjoyed Trey’s presentation last night!  David was quoting all he learned last night while listening to the radio today!!!!”

“Love everything that Trey presents. He has an easy, understandable manner and is a great musician Loved it!”

“Trey Wright did an amazing job of bringing his classroom expertise and love of jazz to the lake club. He succeed beyond my hope. Trey's ability to explain the differences of jazz styles, changes and growth of jazz helps me enjoy jazz every time I attend one of his lectures. Not only does Trey explain the differences but by playing recordings and demonstrating on his guitar I am able to hear and appreciate the slight differences. I know Trey is the spark that has been the beginning of many students love of jazz and music.
Thank you Trey for another wonderful and informative lecture!”
