Trey Wright


Trey Wright is a jazz guitarist in the Athens/Atlanta area.  Along with
performing in various size jazz ensembles in the Atlanta area, Trey is
co-founder and manager of the award winning jazz quartet Squat
(
www.squatme.com).  With Squat and others, Trey has toured throughout the
United States, Canada, Europe, and India.  Trey also performs his unique style
of instrumental folk music as a solo artist.

Trey has a strong commitment to music education and he currently teaches
Applied Jazz Guitar at Kennesaw State University; Music Fundamentals, Jazz
Combo, and Applied Jazz Guitar at LaGrange College; Sight Reading, Jazz
Performance, and Performance Counseling at the Atlanta Institute of Music;
and is a Jazz Artist in Residence at the University of Georgia.  In the fall of
2004, Trey finished his first book, Blues Comping: An Introduction to Jazz
Chords published by A.I.M. Press.

Over the past 10 years, Trey has booked public and private performances for
Squat, Grogus, the Trey Wright Trio and other jazz ensembles for Tumnus
Management.
